War in Iraq
On the twentieth of March 2008, the United States and Iraq marked the sixth anniversary of the Iraq War. The war in Iraq has affected the main countries: U.S. and Iraq. With great disappointment the war has had greater effects on the countries than ever imagined. Over the years, the war has been a struggle to both countries that has cost them more than just money. The cost and the death toll of the war have put the Iraq War as the second longest (after the Vietnam War) and the second costliest (after the Second World War) war in US history. By the time the war ends in the near future, many would remember the war to be a colossal mistake from begging to end (Men’s Heath, 2007, pg 32-33).

As of now the war in Iraq has cost less lives than any other war in U.S. history. The Civil War cost the most lives, quickly followed by WWI, then WWI, and then Vietnam. WWI cost over 150k lives in the short period of time that we were involved in the war, whereas the vietnam war cost over 50k lives in the long period of time we were there. The war in Iraq cannot be called the costliest war in terms of lives lost if that is what you meant.

I disagree with this i believe that the war is the only way to peace. I would love to be able to forget someone did something and act like nothings wrong but thats not how humanity works.

I believe that the war in Iraq has had major consequences. Gas prices are one HUGE example. The war has also had a major impact on the lives of the familys of our soldiers too.

I do not necessarily like war, but I don’t think it is fair to say that the Iraq war was a mistake. Nobody made such a big deal out of the Civil War (pretty much everyone was for it), and that was Americans killing each other.

Thanks for all of you that have left a comment. With Doug, I would like to agree that gas prices have gone up the roof. With, i think Jake, i would like to say that i did not mean costiliest of lives in the war but financially. This war has cost the united states a lot of money because of all the supplies. the united states will have to tax its people to help pay for the war.Natanya, i think that the war is a way of people “trying” to settle matters that are trully to be honest very unimportant. Zach, the only way of getting peace is by actually talking, fighting a war is a really great way to get peace. I know that people are for the war, but what good is humanity if by way of getting peace is to always be fighting, then i want out.
